INTRODUCTION

Community Nursing

  • Two community nurses cover the area from the Queensland border to Legume, Upper Tooloom, Bean Creek and Cox's Road West of Grevillia. A wide range of services are provided, including after hospital care, diabetes and heart health education, palliative care, immunisation and school screening.
  • Anyone can request a service from community nurses, and services are provided according to relative need. While community nursing services are free, fees are charged for the loan of equipment.

Community Health Services

  • A wide range of community health services are available to the residents of the Urbenville/ Woodenbong/ Legume area.
  • Anyone can request a service from community health, simply by phoning. Examples include dietician, podiatrist, psychologist, mental health nurse, occupational therapist, speech pathologist, social worker, and early childhood nurse.
  • A medical practitioner must make referral to Physiotherapy services.
