SPORT AND RECREATION

A very diverse background, including two years living in India studying Eastern Philosophy has provided artist Pamela Orchiston with the inspiration to create paintings and other works of art that reflect the inner emotions and etherical desires of her subjects.

Pamela was born in New Zealand and spent much of her childhood sketching in her schoolbooks rather than concentrating on her lessons. An early interest in dance and other forms of self-expression led her into a career in dancing and in 1964 Pamela went to England to study ballet and modern dance.

A ten-year career in dance followed with touring dance companies performing in England, Europe and South America.

A decision to change direction in her life led Pamela to come to the Upper Clarence and explore her talents in drawing with pastels and the use of acrylics.

Over the past five years Pamela has developed her own unique style in mixed media. Her interest in the strengths of indigenous spirituality has become apparent in some of her more recent works.

Pamela has many works for sale and is interested in commissions Phone 02 66651395
