ARTIST STUDIO LOOKS OUT ON PARADISE
Rosemary Clark

Well-known seascape artist Georgina (Georgie) Lovegrove felt a desire to experience the country lifestyle after 25 years on the Gold Coast and went searching for her own slice of heaven.
Georgie found her perfect place eight years ago when she bought a block of land perched high on a hill at the edge of Yabbra Forest near Urbenville.

“In every direction I looked I could see a magnificent Landscape, It was time I painted some gum-trees” said Georgie, “I love doing seascapes, but the richness of the colours and the clarity of the light make Urbenville the perfect place for an artist to work”.

A large artist’s studio has been built on the hillside beside Yabbra Forest.

The studio takes advantage of the qualities of air and light and is surrounded by panoramic views of the valley below

Georgie’s seascapes are exhibited in some of the leading galleries on the Gold Coast but her Landscapes are sold through the local craft shop in Urbenville

“I feel that they belong to this valley and they should be sold locally, it is important to support the local community and the magnificent scenery is so captivating that people should come and see it for themselves.” Georgie said

Works by Georgina Lovegrove are available from Crown Arts and Crafts Urbenville
