| The Landcare
movement is alive and well in the Upper Clarence. For
many people caring for and improving the Clean and Green
region has proven to be a rewarding experience. With groups
located in most of the villages and surrounding areas,
many different environmental issues have been tackled.
From creek bank erosion to weed control, farm forestry
plantings to field days, health workshops and local call
internet access; Landcare has been involved helping the
community tackle many of the problems and joys of life
in a rural community. Landcare has become a major part
of the Upper Clarence.
As the umbrella organization of Landcare groups in
the region, Upper Clarence Combined Landcare Inc, (UCCL)
has been instrumental in enabling access to many government
projects that would not otherwise have been possible.
UCCL was instrumental in the establishment of a local
call Internet point of presence in the region.
UCCL employs a Regional Landcare Coordinator who assists
the community in the development of Landcare strategies
and project implementation. For more information visit
