Management Committee

The Pre School is community based and is regulated by DOCS through the Management Committee. The parents of the children form the committee, and regulate funds, policy, fundraising, staff and various other important aspects of the Pre School. Regular meetings are held. Attendance by parents at meetings is fundamental to the continued operation of the Pre-School.

Operating Days/Times

Tuesday and Wednesday Full days for school starters 9am to 3pm.Activities on these days will be aimed at children starting school the following year. Thursdays and Fridays 9am to 12 noon Half days for younger children not going to school next year. Activities on these days will be aimed at 3 year olds. Holidays and terms operate as for Dept. Education School Terms

Special Programs

The Pre School is currently being funded under the INTERVENTION SUPPORT PROGRAM to assist children with special needs.

Additional Commonwealth funds are targeted at providing special programs for Aboriginal children in numeracy and literacy, Indigenous culture and language. Phone 66351372

Woodenbong Central School occupies an entire town block, a legacy of the “old days” when many of the students rode to school, and their horses needed an area to be kept in during lesson time-the “horse paddock” (today’s playground).

Today, Woodenbong Central School is a mixture of both historical and modern buildings. The original single-room building, which was “the school”, is now preserved on site, alongside more contemporary facilities such as the Sports Stadium, which accommodates a full-size basketball/tennis court on a sprung hardwood floor.

The school caters for the educational need of students from Kindergarten (5 years old) through to Year 12 (18 years old). Many students complete their entire schooling on the one site. are shared, K-12. Students from both the Primary and Secondary Departments share resources such as the Library, Sports Stadium and Canteen, and specialty rooms such as Art, Music, Science and Homes Science.
