Tourism
is an emerging industry in the Upper Clarence, and operators
have always been keen to get together and share knowledge
and experience.
Father of the tourism industry in the Upper Clarence,
Terry Pasco organised informal meetings of tourism operators
at Brooklyn via Urbenville for many years. These meetings
were an opportunity for people new to tourism to gain
from his experience and support each other through the
difficult days when they were just starting out.
A more formal approach was proposed in 1997, with tourism
operators and local businesses determined the objectives
in forming a tourism association The Upper Clarence
High Country Tourism Association was officially launched
on the 23rd of July 1997.
