Timbarra River
Cats Claw
Cats Claw Creeper is an aggressive feral plant choking
riparian vegetation on the Timbarra and Mid Clarence
River systems. The infestation is moving downstream.
UCCL by forming partnerships with Councils and the community
is proposing to map weed distribution and density and
to develop and implement a strategic control plan.
Subcatchment Planning
Building on previous successes, UCCL aims to develop
plans for other Upper Clarence subcatchments including
Grahams Creek, Deep Creek, and Boomi creek. Plans include
integrated reach based stream structure and riparian
vegetation rehabilitation.
Gully and Landslip Rehabilitation
A number of major gullies and one very large landslip
are targeted for rehabilitation over the coming years.
Upper
Clarence Wetlands
A significant chain of wetlands along Tabulam Rivulet,
and wetland areas at Woodenbong, Tunglebung and Tabulam
are targeted for increased community involvement in
management and rehabilitation.
