On short strolls to both open forest and rainforest, a wide variety of birds (over 150 species have been identified so far), share our space with Koalas, Wallabies, Paddy Melons, bandicoots, bettongs, antechinus, dingoes, various frogs, sugar gliders, owls, possums, bats and many other interesting and sometimes rare wildlife. By day and night, it’s really rather crowded in our remote area of the world.

Make use of our extensive reference library to verify what you find: let us take you spotlighting, relax and watch the stars. Walk through dense rainforest minutes away from your cabin, climb a mountain, ponder a National Park, listen to the sounds or simply drink in the view.

Mount Clunie Cabins – there where the dingoes howl, a mere 2 hours from Brisbane and a million miles from anywhere. Fran and Jim Standing will welcome you to their paradise

Our timber cabins are gas powered, including the charm of (quiet and bright) gas lighting, sleep six comfortably and feature a generous kitchen, wood combustion fire, star gazing deck and sweeping mountain views. Each is equipped with cutlery, crockery, cooking utensils, bed linen and towels.

Guests need to bring: personal items, food, wet weather gear, suitable walking boots/shoes and attire. Bring your camera, binoculars, sketchpad etc. We ask that pets are not brought onto the property.
